The ancient Greek inscription on the painting.
The inscription is taken from the introduction at the beginning of Parmenides' "proemes" describing his dream of being induced to the Goddess. (Parmenides, Greek philosopher circa 500 B.C.) It translates roughly:
And the Goddess welcomed me happily, took my hand in her right hand, thus spoke to me:
Somehow, the relentless pursuit for the Truth of the Universe has led to the Love and Warmth of the Goddess. This is not our ordinary experience. -- May, 2001 |
